Post Vaccination Protective Measures Regarding Social Distancing

Ending Covid

Regarding post vaccination health measures and appropriate time frames for the removal of previous health guidelines in a post-vaccination Covid-19 era

The definition for social distancing is to maintain a certain amount of distance between one individual to the next in areas outside their residence. The recommended distance was defined as around maintaining about 6 feet space between one person to the next person, or twice the length of a human arm. In the initial stages of the outbreak, the concept is to create an enforced barrier between the transmission of human saliva and fluids that might be contaminated with the Covid-19 virus. These health measures were placed to create safer environments for individuals to be able to interact throughout a region during a pandemic.

As facilities resume opening and operating at regular hours, the issue of limiting how many individuals are inside an enclosed space, post-vaccination, seizes to be relevant. Fire capacity limits, have been in place for quite some time, regarding how many individuals are allowed to be inside a space, without creating the concern of overpopulating a space, in the case of an emergency. The buildings that are built for usage have a occupant loading, which is used to determine the minimum number of doors, exits, and stairs, required to evacuate individuals in the case of an emergency. Occupant load factors are used to determine the number of individuals permitted in a room or building. Therefore, aside from the regular general recommendations for occupancy, within a given enclosed space, less than 11% difference from current guidelines, it appears to be feasible, to resume full occupancy loads at the current time.

Regarding the transmission of the Covid-19 virus, post-vaccination there would no longer be a concern, in terms of this particular issue. Due to the inability of the vaccinated individual to spread the virus to those around them. At this point, it is no longer feasible to close buildings nor limit how many individuals are within one, opening up the restriction limits previously imposed in certain regions. Addressing a brief outline for specific circumstances regarding groups or individuals pertaining to workplaces, is as the following.

Regarding Social Distancing at work

It is not longer relevant to avoid in-person meetings with colleagues, at the present time it is no longer pertinent to avoid meetings or conferences within the work environment. Online conferences, virtual meetings, electronic mail and telephone usage should return to pre-covid-19 era standards, within each specific institution, and adhere to general workplace guidelines in terms of conduct. All required training sessions, workshops, along with sales meetings, previously conducted, should also return to pre-Covid-19 era numbers. At work, regular avoidance of public physical interactions is not novel, hand shakes can be avoided until the full pandemic is over. In addition, all work place environments should resume implementing regular working hours avoiding further delays.
